Been a tutor at Flynn Elementary School has been a wonderful experience, it has made me understand a different aspect of been an educator, furthermore made me see all the issues that our children are facing on a daily basis. I believe that in a short period of time, we were capable to see hands on the culture of power, be able to see struggles that these children go though, I think that been a educator we have to identify all of these differences, ether linguistic differences or cultural differences, the sooner that we do, the better that we will we. Politics will always be there, we cannot ignored the fact that our government is involved with our schools, they are changing the way of teaching, we as futures teacher cannot forget our identity, and remember that no matter what we do it has to be in the best interest of a child education, these kids in urban areas need us, let make a difference, let not forget that there are in a lot of need, we need to take time, we patient and teach them in a way that they can comprehend, let remember that from the time when they were little, had to face issues that other privilege children don’t even know are there. Finally I just wanted to share my thought to all of you, it has been a enormous experience, I made me see things differently, the most important thing was that it made me reflect and we aware of all our differences, and that the silent has to stop, we have to approached this issues, we have to initiate to make a difference and all begin with the little things.

Prompt 5
I believe that teacher have to be knowledgeable with the families and their cultures, they have to be conscious of their students language and surroundings, If we as teacher know all of this facts, we will be able to have a superior relationship with our students parents, I know that Spanish community are exceptionally close, these parent have so much respect for their kids teachers, so that is very important that we have their support, parents involvement is extremely important, by having a good communication with the parent, we will be able to help our kids, they will benefit in the long run, also the parents are going to feel welcome at school, and if we speak their language or if we are aware of their culture will be even better for this trust.
Prompt 4
I think that most of the teachers at my school are aware of diverse cultural groups, something that got my attention was a statement that a teacher made about the students, she said that first we have to be like a social worker, what she was trying to said is that this children come from a very diverse culture, they come from a home in which a parent guidance a lot of time is lacking, so if we a teacher are aware of these issues, we know a litter better our student, we will be able to understand them better. I believe that these teachers face the reality of been a teacher, because they will make an impact in the life’s of these children, they have to educate them with the basic of life, most of this material these kids don’t learned at home. Since I’m bilingual I think that I would make a positive diferecence in these kids life’s, been to speak a language that they can comprehend would make their lives a lot easier. Many year ago I was also in a situation in which I didn’t knew the language and it was hard, so I know what they fell and I identify with their culture.

prompt 3
The teachers in my bilingual class are doing a phenomenal job, they are trying new things every day, Miss Vina and Miss Vargas are magnificent teachers which I have been helping for the past few months, since the class is been taught in Spanish some of the techniques these teacher are doing is putting poster about each child country of origin. I found this very helpful because these kids can related to their own culture and the teacher in the other hand will learned more about their students social culture and their identities. I think that the big factor is that these teachers are from Hispanic country and it is very easy for them to identity with these kids and their culture.

Second week at E.W. Flynn
These past few weeks I have been going to Flynn Elementary school, this experience it is something that we cannot learn by reading books or going to our regular classes, the teachers are great, they have made this a pleasant experience. My kids are really good students, even though they are very young, they listen and they try to paid attention to our 30 minutes sections that we spend together. I think that my reading coach Mrs. Gallant has helped us a lot though this wonderful experience. I’m doing student teaching twice a week, and every week is a new experience, I’m looking forward to my next visit which will be next Monday.

An Indian father’s plea
I think that the story of An Indian father's plea, it show us how tuff can be for someone from a different culture to start something as simple as going to school, Wind-Wolf which is a 5 year old Indian kid was face with the reality of adjusting to a new culture system, since he was 3 years old, he already has been introduce to many different religions and had learned many need things, however he was consider an slow learner maybe it was because he was caught between two worlds. He was also exposed to first case of racism. He felt like he did not belong there, I think that as features teacher we have to identify this issues from start, and we have to appreciate other peoples cultures, so we can understand it better, he might not be a slow learner, he is intimidate by all of this, like when the students in his class laughed at him, he was very embarrass. I remember when I was 13 years old and I came to the United States for the first time, I was somewhat shy because I did not know the language and didn't know what to expect from school, therefore I can very well understand what this 5 year old child is felling.
second week at flynn
This week experience at Flynn Elementary school was a surprising one; I meet the teachers that I will be working with and one of them Ms Vargas is my uncle’s wife sister, so I felt comfortable because I knew her. It made me think about does children that go to school for the first time without knowing anything about their teacher or their school, we as adult do felt something similar but we have a different way to handle especial situations, it is due to the fact that we have a lot more experience in life than does children that just started school.

Prompt 1 First experience at Edmund W. flynn Elementary School
My first experience at Edmund W. Flynn Elementary School was great, ounce I was near the school I was able to notice that this elementary school is a couple of blocks from Rhode Island hospital so there is a lot of traffic all day, parking was not a problem, due to the fact that they have a lot of space for staff to park in the back of the school. Most of the houses in this neighborhood are ether 3 family houses or just buildings. Upon entering the school I had to wait a few minutes until someone open the door, so door are lock all day for securities reasons. The reading coach Ms Gallant was very excite and happy to see us, at the end she gave us a tour of the school, we spend most of the mourning taking about the different steps and process that we have to use went we are helping the students. I was very impress with the way they have the classes, the rooms were perfect a lot of pictures, very colorful and clean. This school is very diverse, 59% of the students are Hispanic, 31% are African American, 6% are white and 3% Asian. The performance progress of Edmund W. Flynn is a little below Rhode Island elementary schools, about 25% of the students are receiving ESL also know as Bilingual Education Services. One of the facts that surprise me the most was that about 50% of teachers in this school have been there 3 years or less.
